- Welcome to the Academy, Capsuleers. This beginner tutorial will explain the basics of EVE Online's player economy and how you can get started to turn a tidy profit. Forge your path in EVE Online - eveonline.com/e...
Accessing the market to buy or sell items is very simple. The regional market can be opened straight from your Neocom where sell orders are displayed above buy orders alongside graphs of price history, quantity, and trading volume per day. Sell orders are other Capsuleers offering to sell their items for ISK and buy orders serve as the opposite - pilots putting down ISK in advance if you have the right item to sell to them. Most trading activity takes place in and around the market hub known as Jita 4-4, though other, smaller trade hubs do exist in popular PvE or PvP locations. If you're savvy enough to spot a deal then it's very possible to turn a profit by hauling goods or simply buying low and selling high.

the soundtrack to this game is epic i love eve online
This is one of my favorite parts of eve, even though I’m not a trader
Thanks for the subtitles in my language!
Market PVP is ❤
This is not an essential part of gameplay, but a great avenue of gameplay for people who like market games and want to have a life as a multi-regional trader.
A good way to be semi-passive and not have your ship blown up.
Great macro overview about the market but the micro could use some work. Not sorting 'Sell' orders by descending and 'Buy' order by ascending makes everything look like a complete mess and could cause newbros to overspend & undersell items. Would have liked to see a brief mention on how to lower your taxes (ie increase standings, skills, or sell at a player structure). The difference between broker fee/sales tax isnt really explained and actually showing how to 'update' your orders would have been nice too. No mention at all of player market structures and their weird mechanics but I think its ok to be left out.
like the soothing voices of this video.
Please, make a video about how to use the cyno. Like, how many light years can I jump with my ship, and how can I calculate that without info from websites
I think eve jumplanner is still accurate
hi for some reason on my mac os i cannot sell any items in my item hanger. i cant right click on anything. any help would be great. ive been trying to get an answer for this and havent been able to yet. please help.
I'm a purebred gun-for-hire, but I think I'll do a little trading whenever necessary. Search for new gear from time to time.
Once a week after my weekly haul to HS to sell my wares, I always go get hangar firesales with some throwaway isk.
Anybody know where I should buy from, just for pvp supplies, as my sec status is too low for jita, preferably best stocked for amarr based characters, and not to far from low sec?
I would suggest a market alt to buy and deliver them to your main toon.
make a hauling contract to deliver goods from jita to where you want it, have a friend move it for ya, or make a market/hauling alt to move it as well.
Thanks, love your videos btw!
Might want to mention that there is no "fair price" in Minmatar trade hubs.
Also take note that there is no point in any sell order or buy order less than 3 months as you pay the exact same amount either way. Which is dumb by design.
What is game needs is a system where you set a sell price range that automatically updates as new orders come in. So if someone comes in and sales for 1 ISK lower, your price automatic meets theirs. People should not be able to just show up and put their items first on the list. This happens even if they match the previous lowest price order. And this price automated adjustment would continue until you reach your set limit. Otherwise, what is the point of a broker??? Why are you paying this broker when they literally do NOTHING. Brokers should be an option, not a requirement. People who don't pay the broker's fee have to manually update. So if they just take 1 ISK off the price there is no guarantee they'll actually be the lowest price. They can't know until the place the order.
Walking in stations?
the fact that your market orders are not set by descending/ascending price gives me nightmares. Cool video otherwise ;)
yeah, I feel you I always have my sell orders in ascending and my buy orders in descending
@@undeadpeak we all do this ... ^^
@@Jan5366 everyone except for CCP
I sort by distance. Prefer to buy my wares local even if steeply marked up.
When I last played, the primary trade route to Jita was blocked by that Abyssal event, and players would gank you even if you were in a pod or shuttle. Sometimes I think of returning, but is that event over yet? Not to mention so much has changed since the years I played, not even loadouts are the same, and I read something about how mining and resources have changed.
Yes that event is over now. Also, shuttles are almost instawarp and invulnerable to bubbles
Can you do Planetary industries? im confused about it
It's on my list!
Please provide a video on Bounty Hunting
There is no such thing as "Bounty Hunting" in EVE. Just PvP.
@@crescendyr8438 such a shame. Do you know what Bounty hunting is, yes its might become a PvP, but there's so much more to that, there's a whole Bounty hunting system in Eve, my amatuer friend. For a Bounty Hunter no Price is too big, no kill is too small.
@@tarn4633 Hunting other players for their bounty is pointless. If they have a 100m bounty, you can only get 20% of that amount ONLY if the ship they fly is that much. If they fly a ship that costs 1m isk, you get 200k isk for that kill. They don't lose a thing. It was a great idea but was implemented poorly and has no use.
@@oldweeb1066 I am a Bounty Hunter, we live for the thrill of the kill, the cash is a complimentary privilege.
3:49 well this is awkward. You pay the broker's fee to create the listing. You pay the taxes when the order is filled.
This women sounds like shes doing a news report for ITV
New players will struggle to make ANY profit in early game, I have played this game for 10 years now and most markets are run by bots that will undercut by 0.1isk. Ships.
Ammo.
Boosters.
Are all in the red at the moment as the resources required cost more than the end product. (yes I use Eve marketeer) Items that used to yield a healthy profit are now barley worth it even with perfect trade and refinement skills. Lets not forget that most players myself included have enough isk to bully news players out of the market.
Your best bet is to sell directly to a Corp or alliance. This will allow you to skip all of the market fluff until you are established, with the added benefit of paying NO TAXES OR FEES. Most Alliances will buy raw or refined resources start there.
This would probably scare new players more than get them into the game.
This space station should be expanded with more holographic projectors and more commercial advertising pictures
Yup, Jita should look like the shining beacon of Caldari capitalism that it is.
I miss click and lost 500 mil in taxes
